A single question can expose everything: “What shall we do?” When Peter preaches in Acts 2, the crowd feels the weight of sin and the shock of grace at the same time, and we can hear ourselves in their words. Pastor Carl walks us through Peter’s case that Jesus is the promised Messiah from David’s line, risen from the dead, exalted to the right hand of God, and confirmed as both Lord and Christ.

We also slow down to talk about conviction and repentance in plain terms. Conviction is not a pep talk we give ourselves, and repentance is not “get your life together and then come to Jesus.” It’s the Holy Spirit cutting through denial so we can finally admit we’re stuck, turn from wicked ways, and run to Christ for forgiveness, remission of sins, and a change that starts from the inside out. Baptism comes into view as a public declaration of what Jesus has done, tied to the name of Jesus and the gift of the Holy Spirit.

From there, Acts 2 shows what real gospel fruit looks like: a church devoted to Scripture, fellowship, breaking bread, and prayer, marked by generosity, joy, and reverence for God. We end by taking the pressure off evangelism and putting it where it belongs: we proclaim the truth and the Lord adds to the church daily.
