Pride can sneak in the moment God starts using us, so we slow down and ask a hard question: when people respond to a message, are they coming to hear us, or are they coming to hear Jesus through the Word of God? We start with a simple call to humility and a reminder that God humbles the proud, then we step into Acts 10 where the Lord reshapes Peter’s assumptions in a way that still challenges the church today.

From Caesarea to Joppa and back again, we trace the true story of Cornelius, a Roman centurion with a surprising reputation among the Jewish people. He prays, gives generously, seeks God seriously, and then receives a clear direction to send for Simon Peter. Meanwhile Peter is praying when God gives him the vision of the sheet filled with animals and the command to eat. Peter resists, but God’s reply lands like a cornerstone: “What God has cleansed, you must not call common.”

When Roman messengers arrive at the gate, the Holy Spirit tells Peter to go without doubting, and the gospel starts crossing a boundary that once felt impossible. We talk about what it means to welcome people we would normally avoid, why Peter refuses to be treated like someone worthy of worship, and how the line “God shows no partiality” destroys the quiet hierarchies we build between “clean” and “unclean” people. If you want Bible teaching through Acts, practical Christian discipleship, and a clearer picture of God’s heart for the whole world, this message will meet you right where you are.
