A room full of religious leaders hears a report they never wanted to believe: Gentiles have received the word of God. The backlash is immediate, and Peter has to explain himself. We follow his step-by-step testimony through Acts 11, from the vision in Joppa to the moment the Holy Spirit falls on a Gentile household, proving that God’s grace does not stop at the borders we build. When Peter asks, “Who was I that I could withstand God?”, it lands like a mirror for every believer who has ever resisted what God is doing because it feels unfamiliar or undeserved.

Along the way, we slow down on the line God repeats: “What God has cleansed, you must not call common.” That challenge reaches far beyond ancient food laws. It confronts prejudice toward other people, but it also confronts the private shame we keep recycling after Christ has forgiven us. We talk about the difference between conviction and accusation, why believers so often drift into finger-pointing, and how renewing our minds anchors us in a new identity marked by holiness, service, and freedom.

Then the story moves outward as the scattered church carries the gospel to places like Antioch. Barnabas arrives, sees the grace of God, and urges everyone to continue in the Lord with purpose of heart. We reflect on grace-powered discipleship, the early growth of a Bible-teaching community, and why “Christian” first became a name in Antioch, even if it started as a slur.

If you want a clearer vision of salvation by grace, the work of the Holy Spirit, and what it looks like to live clean because God says you are, listen now, subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave a review so more people can find the show.
